About this deal

It’s been such a joy to watch Hal grow since Book 1. A talented artist from the off, he has honed not only his drawing skills over the course of the six books but also his powers of observation and from this his ability to make connections and inferences from what he sees. In the company of his beloved Uncle Nat, Hal has had space to grow and – although he loves his immediate family enormously – being treated as an equal, rather than as a child, has seen him bloom in ability and in confidence.

I am a big fan of this series and thoroughly enjoyed this new addition. Love the mystery, the travel and the relationships. I think I read somewhere that this might be the last book in the series, but I very much hope it isn’t because I would keep reading train mysteries in new locations! A high-speed train journey worth catching . . .The best yet' - The Times on Murder on the Safari Star I made a video of my adventures for each day I was there. Take a look, and if you’re wondering whether or not to go along to your local festival, I hope they pursuade you to give it a go. This time Hal and his uncle are heading to the Arctic circle to see the Northern lights. As usual, they are caught up in a case and discover an assassin on the train.

The winners of The Farshore Reading for Pleasure Teacher Awards 2023, highlighting the work schools are doing to encourage a love of reading, have...Harrison, called Hal by his friends, and his Uncle Nat, a journalist turned travel writer, both love trains and, whenever he can, Nat invites Hal along with him as he researches trains all over the world. Hal isn't just a train buff, he also has a nose for crime and it seems no matter where in the world they are Hal and Uncle Nat are the Duo to bring crims to justice! I love the fact that at the end of the book the authors take the time to explain which elements of their story are truth and which are fiction. They also give a bit of history on the train, railway line, and the country in which the story is set.

Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’ Writer Tom MacRae, Buccaneer Media Join Nevision’s ‘Beetle Boy’ AdaptationThe setting and story arc will be familiar to readers of the other books. Harrison and his Uncle Nat go on a train holiday together, in this case to see the Northern Lights, and they end up embroiled in a mystery involving the train passengers that’s to be solved. Ignoring the fact that it should have been introduces way earlier in the series, we find out Uncle Nat has a partner? by the name of James. Yesterday, I spent a wonderful afternoon at the Natural History Museum in London with two world-renowned (and my favourite) coleopterists. Either one could be Bartholomew Cuttle from my Beetle Boy stories. This time the mystery involves an assassin, a weapon of unimaginable power, and a threat to the life of Harrison and and his Uncle Nat. Love, love, love this series so much. The sixth and I think final installment of the Adventures on Trains series sees Hal and his uncle Nat on a train to the Arctic circle, the problem being there is also an assassin aboard!
