About this deal

There are a number of things to consider before buying your washer. The tougher the job, the more power you’ll want from your machine. The smaller or more delicate the area, the less power you’ll need. The LCD display might seem like a minor perk, but it can make a huge difference. The display ensures that you’ve got the right amount of power and detergent at all times. It really removes the guesswork from the equation. Weight Finally, consider how water will drain away when you’re working and remember not to use a pressure washer in freezing temperatures.

However, there are many differences between Karcher and Bosch pressure washers. Below, you’ll learn more about these differences so you can find the right pressure washer for you. Differences Between Karcher and Bosch Pressure Washers Motor Power When registered, Bosch offers a 5-day repair service where they will collect, repair and service your pressure washer and return it to you within 5 working days – now that’s a great service (but location dependant) A short comparison table for the 3 different models is also outlined below which may also be of interest to you to help give you a better understanding FeatureI'll be upfront here and say that our patio has certainly seen better days! It's on the list to be replaced when we extend our house in the coming months, so the pavers are quite old and we haven't been the best at keeping on top of cleaning them. The paving is a chequerboard design of alternating red and yellow-toned slabs so having them covered with a slight layer of dirt actually helps to mask this awful colour combination! In the past we've used the good old-fashioned method of scrubbing the patio with a broom and water to give it a refresh after winter.

It easily washed any of the mud splatter off the surfaces, and I was careful not to aim the jet at any of the window or door seals in case it caused any water ingress. It's also possible to buy extra attachments for the Bosch Universal Aquatak 135 pressure washer. These include things like a wash brush, car cleaning kit, a range of nozzles and an extension hose. A lot more expensive than the Easy Aquatak 100 and the hose is 1m shorter than the 3rd model outlined below Both models have a 1.8kW motor but the Bosch has a slightly higher maximum pressure at 135 bar (vs. 130 bar on the Karcher). Looking at the maximum flow rate, the Karcher K4 is just ahead at 420 litres per hour, compared to 410 on the Bosch. In the real world though, there is very little difference in it between the two models.

These pressure washers are ideal for most households. Machines in this range should be able to cope with cleaning paving and garden furniture as well as cars. The good news is that both companies make pressure washers with wheels (apart from the Karcher K2 Compact and Bosch EasyAquatak range). Therefore, mobility won’t be an issue either way. Hose Length When cleaning vertical surfaces, apply the detergent from bottom to top. When rinsing off, work from top to bottom. For cleaning our patio and the car we didn't need to use this as the water on its own was enough to get rid of the dirt. I'd also be mindful of using detergent on our patio as I wouldn't want the run-off water to soak into the soil and damage our plants. Plus with a puppy that likes to drink/eat anything in sight, detergent-filled water all over the patio is far from ideal! I can imagine that over winter when the car is really muddy and dirty, however, that the detergent attachment could be a useful addition. These competing models are usually available for a similar price, so what, if any, are the main differences?

Includes the innovative 3-in-1 nozzle with fan, rotary and pencil jet to ensure better cleaning output.

Part Type

Specific car cleaning attachments are also available, including angled tools for reaching beneath the body of the car and brushes to softly clean the bodywork. Another difference is the weight. If you’re looking for a large and in charge pressure washer, you’ll definitely want to go with Karcher. If you prefer something that is lightweight, you’ll be better off with a Bosch pressure washer. Pretty much every Bosch pressure washer is going to weigh less than 9 kg. With Karcher, the weights are almost always above that limit (unless you go for the K2 models). Seriously lightweight coming in a just 3kg which makes it one of the lightest pressure washers available to work with.

Most Bosch models have a 1m longer hose than there Karcher equivalents but you can only get a 10m hose on a Karcher (the very high-end K7). Warranty One of the biggest differences associated with Karcher and Bosch pressure washers is the LCD display on the trigger gun. The high-end Karcher K5 & K7 Premium Full Control Plus Home (a simpler version is also available on the Karcher K4 Full Control) have this feature, Bosch machines do not.The compact design of the pressure washer means it fits neatly into a corner of our garden shed and it doesn't take up much space. Handy when the shed feels like its bursting at the seams with garden tools, garden furniture cushions, the best pizza oven and a mass of children's garden toys. The handle folds down so it takes up less room and there’s also on-board storage for the power cable, lance and sprayer so it's easy to store everything together in one spot. We tested a range of pressure washers and pressure cleaners, putting them through their paces on a range of surfaces. They were assessed according to the following criteria with equal marks attributed to each: If you haven't used a pressure washer a great deal, then it's quite easy to get the hang of it. However, there are a few things I learned the hard way about how to use a pressure washer. Why we would choose the Karcher K4: Nice features such as the “Plug and Clean” detergent system and “Full Control” lance.
