About this deal

Welcome to another episode of Difficult Conversations: Lessons I learned as an ICU physician. This is Dr. Anthony Orsini, and you guessed it, I’ll be your host again this week. Well, as I approach my 50th episode, I can say that doing this podcast is one of the best decisions that I ever made. Because each and every week, I get to interview some of the most incredible people in the world, leaders in healthcare, and in business who have taught me so much. I also feel inspired every week. And this podcast has given me a new appreciation for the good in people and the unbreakable human spirit. Well, none of my amazing guests have been more inspiring than the man you were about to meet today. So I had two at the time I had a seven year old daughter and a son who turned three while I was in my coma. And I love talking about my kids because you talk about inspiration and watching people overcome. And firstly, my daughter grew up, she’s finishing her final year of a psychology program at Baylor university doing developmental child psychology. She got married three years ago. I got to walk her down the aisle. She is now six months pregnant. I’m going to be a grandpa. And yeah, now at my age, I’m so glad I started so young. She’s 27 and I’m going to be a young grandpa. Cast Time: 1.00 sec Requires Level 12 Summons a totem that casts a beam of fire at you and each other totem you control, dealing burning damage to enemies caught in the beam. Enemies near either end of a beam also suffer burning damage. +1 to maximum number of Summoned Totems

Inspiration Support: If Righteous Fire is linked with Inspiration Support Inspiration Support Critical, Support Ventilation is required because the convection of air behind the shield is what provides cooling. If you trap the air behind the shield, you’re essentially making an oven. When combustible materials are sat too close to a heat source such as a stove, they will deteriorate on a molecular level as they repeatedly heat up and cool down over time. And that’s when you want to surround yourself with people who are willing to help. And, you know, it’s the same thing as you get to choose your friends. And if you have toxic friends, people who don’t have your best interests and supports you that it’s okay to let them go and keep your inner circle close. Well, it’s the same thing for me with the medical profession. I really tried to hone in on the people who had my best interest and we could, you know, we could laugh together. We could cry together it’s okay. Again, you can, even for doc, it’s okay to walk into my room and tell me that not only telling me the truth, but then also to tell me that you’re scared. The less obvious answer is that even though it may SEEM like you have enough clearance between your stove and combustible material...it's not always that obvious. Corrupted The mighty warriors traded in blows, the nimble archers in arrows, yet it was the brazen thaumaturgists who would bring catastrophe to all.

Being sure you know the installation requirements follow the required clearances is critical to keep your family and your home safe from a potential fire hazard. And all these years later, we’re best friends. And I respect what he’s gone through. Again, everybody has a story, right? Nobody would look at him, but what he went through with me was maybe different. But I would say just as difficult, it wasn’t as what I want, it’s harder to watch somebody you love go through that. I firmly believed that I had the easiest part of this compared to my wife and my children, my parents, and my friends. And so, yeah, I’m glad Brian was highlighted because he’s an outstanding individual. And again, now he’s the commander of the academy in the fifth largest city in the country. He’ll end up being the chief of police in the next five years.

Heat Shields

So, a material that you previously thought was okay (because it had been near your stove for months or years), can suddenly burst into flames. You saved numerous lives. You could have easily just said, listen, I’ve been through enough. I don’t want to go through this. Cause you got to give depositions, but you want it to make sure that your fellow police officers or really anyone driving these cars. And so now they’re gone and partly that’s because of you and the other people that were involved in the lawsuit. So that’s amazing. Jason, I usually finish each podcast with a question. This one’s going to be a hard one for you. So maybe not because it’s called difficult conversations out of all the difficult conversations that you had, what do you think was the toughest one? And give us some advice on how to navigate that. For your stove, you’ll need to find out what the acceptable clearance from the top of the stove to the ceiling is. If there is no rated clearance from the top of the stove to the ceiling, then your safest bet is to use 36″. Cut a dowel to that length, and use that to mark the area of the ceiling that needs to be covered by the shield. Keep in mind that ceiling shields are less effective than wall shields, so 36″ clearance to the ceiling can be reduced to no less than 18″ with an air-cooled heat shield. A heat shield with good air circulation protects combustible material from pyrolisis and fire and the clearance reduction gives you more room! We were against people who did not seem to have what we needed as a family and what I needed personally. And that is just simply, Hey, it doesn’t matter my accident. It doesn’t matter the job that I was doing. It doesn’t matter what I look like right now. I am alive and drawing my own breath. And I, Jason and I need to be treated as such. I needed to be treated as Jason, as a father, as a person who has a reason and a chance to fight and overcome this. And I need some help. I am vulnerable right now. And vulnerability, I have found there’s an incredible amount of strength and beauty inside vulnerability, but you need a lot of help. Ultimately, follow the manufacturer's instructions and ask your local code enforcement officer if you have questions about the required clearance.

How to Fireproof Wall Behind Wood Stove

Any shield type other than the three types mentioned in NFPA-211 should generally not be used for clearance reduction unless that configuration has been tested. While shields with an amount of air space or insulation other than 1" or shields with a double-layer of sheet metal would likely provide some benefit, the amount of safe clearance reduction they would provide is unknown. The Hobbit Stove is a small cast iron multi-fuel stove that is able to burn wood, coal, or eco logs, and it fully complies with the new Eco Design 2022 regulations, which makes it suitable for any installations after the 1st January 2022. The Hobbit Stove is specifically designed for installations where the space for a stove might be more limited, and this makes our stove the ideal choice for small fireplaces where larger stoves simply won’t fit. In addition to being made from a sufficiently heat-resistant material, it’s also important that your heat shield is of the correct height.

Faux panels are most commonly faux stone. They are very different from both natural stone and manufactured stone. These panels are generally made from lightweight foam, making it easy to cut them into shape and apply them to the wall shield. There will also be a plastic layer on the surface that is impact resistant and will protect the wall from the wood burning stove heat. If you have a wood-burning stove in your home, you’ve probably noticed that the wall behind it can get extremely hot. This heat source can damage the wall and potentially burn it. To protect your wall from this type of damage, you need to add a fire resistant layer between the wall and the stove to act as a wall protector. To sustain the degeneration damage Fire Resistance and Regeneration are needed. Depending on the player's resistance, less regeneration is needed to break even. The reason stove fitters (and building regulators in general) are so concerned about combustion is because of something called pyrolysis. Yeah, that’s something that I think is so important. Again, your Ted talk is about that side of it. Then I had to learn that the hard way, you know, because before this happened, I just assumed like everybody else who doesn’t know any better, the doctors will do what they’re supposed to take care of. You. I didn’t know about the human side and the emotional side and what you need. That’s sometimes more important than the physical and being injured in the line of duty. I was afforded the opportunities to go wherever I want and see whoever I want outside of obviously the initial emergency and going to, I was caught on, I was on fire. As such, pyrolysis is a real concern for stove safety; especially if you have combustible materials situated near your stove. So, yes, if you want to use an air-cooled shield for maximum clearance reduction, will need to make the shield smaller than the recessed space you’ve built on at least two sides to allow 1″ of air space for air flow around the shield.
