About this deal

Alongside their new Torrent case, Fractal has released an update for their existing Ion Platinum series of power supplies. These new PSU models comply with the new ATX 2.52 standard and all ship with two 8-pin ATX12/EPS connectors and enhanced over-current protection.

From my perspective, the Torrent case is already intended to be an "over-pressure" design, and I therefore don't see the point in removing or flipping the bottom fans/mesh. Should I try to match both of sets of 3 - 140mm fans against similar fan curves ? maybe on the same fan hub ? It seems appropriate to plug the AIO fan into the AIO fan header of your MoBo but there is a single AIO cable to manage both the pump and the radiator fans, I think Arctic (AIO builder) recommends using the CPU fan header. Between the triple bottom intake pushing air through our RTX 3080 Ti and the two massive 180 mm front intake fans helping push away heat from the GPU and our test system’s i9-11900K CPU, load temps were almost identical compared to the same components on the open test bench. I am going to call this enclosure design a success, and I particularly like the look of the front panel. I wish there was a more elegant solution to a tangle of fan PWM and RGB cables, and that the hub was closer to the motherboard, but these are pretty minor complaints. Our acoustic test consists of three scenarios: We run the CPU at full load, the CPU and GPU at full load and an optimized idle. The CPU full load test runs the CPU and case fans at their maximum speed. For the CPU and GPU full load acoustic test, we also stress the Gigabyte RTX 3070 Ti Gaming OC and set the fans at 75% speed, because in gaming the fans never run at 100% and are far too loud when they do.

Indeed, having the bottom fans pulling air in I was inclined to believe my GPU would still have proper air at least against its bottom side, will test both ! Once the AIO fits reverting 2 fans would be a piece of cake. Like your current setup, I only have 2 140mm fans at the bottom, as the tubes/hoses from the AIO and the radiator is obstructing the last slot. I won’t quite say that I have grown tired of companies taking the safe route by slapping a fine mesh front panel on cases. But I admire creativity, which is what Fractal has brought to airflow-focused cases. Not only does the front panel look good, but it also performs really well, without even adding an exhaust fan. And the front 2x Noctua intake is paramount for a standardized proper methodology, but while it make work good in one case with one GPU, it probably won't in another.Sandwiching fans are a mix between AIO and case fans, AIO has its dedicated fan curve maybe I will have to match both fan curve since the radiator will be in and "air tight" sandwich either put the 38mm depth radiator inside the 140mm fans panel (in front of the radiator at the right of the last picture), The recent LTT video about "1 year fan configuration against dust build up results" made me wonder if I've made good decisions for optimal temperatures. Does those seems normal results to you ? (No OC planned but the cooler the longer this build will last) Cases like this have been done in the past with success, and when you have people like Steve from GN advocating for cases with good airflow performance and teaching people why that is important, then it's kind of hard to go wrong unless the company is out of touch. Judging from Fractals popularity with pc builders, that definitely is not the case.

torrent case? Anyone building using AIO in the new fracal design torrent case?

The CPU tests also were in the top 1%, if not chart topping (In the case of the blender CPU Render test) of all the metrics as well. Front Intake is still better for the GPU, because a sufficient high flow of air will push out the hot air faster above adn below the gpu, and stop the GPU fans from recycling the hot air exhaused by the gpu (and yes i know air doesn't get pushed, and that it's heat displacement, but it's easier to explain this way xD) In that way, the Torrent has succeeded: It offers great, striking looks that balance aggression well without sacrificing modern design, and it has more cooling performance than any other case I’ve tested. Firstly, this is just one chart of many tests, so this isnt the "be all end all" for the case being "Bad GPU temps". My guess has nothing to do with volume of the case or it's materials (Seriously?), but more to do with the airflow principle. air must come in and flow out.The case is quiet when running and occasionally you may hear the fan ramp up a bit but not to the point is an annoying sound. It actually have a nice sound coming out of it that is pleasing to my hears. Building the case was easy and did not take too long to do so. I like that it has filling port holes build for custom water cooling and that it support a bunch of difference size radiators. The case has a very strong air pressure that I do not even need a rear fan installed. I will post my build later on, only wish I had custom cables to make the build look way better but it is what it is. XD Yeah.. the "option 1" 120mm push/pull illustration could be a bit misleading. 140mm push/pull IS doable, IF you cut out the piece I mentioned... even with the somewhat beefy radiator on the Arctic 420 AIO.

Fractal Design Torrent Black Solid PC Gaming Case - Scan

The Fractal Design Torrent Case is an interesting case and I can see a lot of potentials as far as Modding goes. What I see here is a large case that has removable panels on each side with clear tempered glass on the side. The bottom front and top bezels of this case are all made from the same ABS plastic material. The finish of the plastic is not smooth but rather matte. Being white, everything that touches this case will leave a mark. So if you plan to use this case for Modding I would recommend painting it or at least clear coating the bezels. If you are extremely careful with the case then you would not have to worry about blemishes or marks. However, no RGB controller or hub is present, so you will be relying on the A-RGB ports of your motherboard. This isn’t an issue if you opt for any other version of the Torrent than we’re testing today, but if you want this RGB variant, do make sure you have two A-RGB ports on your mainboard. While it makes sense to embrace airflow for your components, there would traditionally have been a noise penalty. This just isn’t as high as it once was. I like to live in the past, so let’s think of the sound emanating from your system in the 2000s! But we no longer use 80 mm CPU coolers with 5000 RPM fans, blower-style GPU coolers have become uncommon, SSDs are silent, and HDDs produced today spin in virtual silence. Again, why do we need solid front panels? i guess if you got front air flow for the gpu that can mess with the bottom intake. i would think bottom intake would be better then front intake.

CPU Tower coolers:

Edit: writing this and compiling all the information, made me already realize a potential mistake: I've plugged my AIO into the AIO Pump fan header of my motherboard running at max speed by default. i have a problem with this guess. the augment here is the o11 XL vs the torrent and gpu temps. both case intake from the bottom but the 011xl the front intake as to do a 90 degree well the torrent dose not have to do that so...the torrent should win the cpu cooling test.
