So I bought the book set and assumed Assassins blade was a regular prequel so I have kept it for last. Initially, Rolfe plans to provide two separate rooms for them, but Aelin insists that only one room is necessary. How long they had forced her to sleep, lulled into oblivion by the sweet smoke they’d poured in while they traveled here.

One night, the King of Adarlan decided to overthrow one of his major political opponents, the royal family of Terrasen, and to conquer their country for his own. The King cemented his rule over Erilea by promoting across the country the deaths of the Terrasen nobility, all the while unaware of the survival of Aelin.It came out of nowhere and made me wonder if I had missed some part of the world building or foreshadowing. She became too invincible, too secretive, and too snarky for me (although I loved Celaena’s level and style of snark). In the same scene, she passes a world with a city built along the curve of a river with incredibly tall buildings. There’s really only one major plot point in ToD that you really should learn about before continuing on. Glennis tells her that only a Crochan Queen can summon them to war, and Manon has not been accepted.
