You should be able to isolate an individual radiator with its own valves, with the caveat that some thermostatic valves leak a little when turned off especially if the room gets cold (mainly old ones but not necessarily). For the OP - if you try something like LS-X it doesn't set rock solid, it sets to a firm gel so you can always undo it later, clean, re-apply and re-make as necessary. Good luck hope u find the bit only place I found them is a proper plumbers merchant and even then it's hard as they are popular! So I set about just trying to get a bolt the same size, thinking for now I can just screw that into the rad, sort of bleed it and get it running.

Alternatively you can get silicone based leak sealants which set to plug the leak, you could apply this to the bolt thread - LS-X is a common product. Most of my radiators need bleeding at this time of year, a couple of them more than once, so that might mean a few openings.

However the balance of probablilty is that they are more likely to have they have the replaceable type of bleed valve than the more old fashioned rad you describe.
