About this deal

In October 2021, the installation appeared again in London, in Leicester Square,to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first Harry Potter film.

Though any wand can potentially switch allegiance, most hold some degree of loyalty and attachment to their masters. By contrast, the Elder Wand is ‘dispassionate and ruthless’ in its need for power, forming no true bond with the wielder. This was the wand carried by Draco Malfoy throughout his years at Hogwarts. During the Skirmish at Malfoy Manor, Harry disarmed Draco and won the wand from him, and ultimately used it until the end of the Second Wizarding War. Its ultimate fate is unknown. This was the wand that Lord Voldemort carried for most of his life. After his final duel with Voldemort, Harry likely won the allegiance of the wand (if it was still intact at the time). However, given the fact that Voldemort used this wand to murder Harry's parents, it is highly unlikely that Harry will ever physically possess, let alone use, the wand. However, the belief that the Elder Wand will automatically switch allegiance whenever the owner is disarmed is also false, for one very important reason... The Elder Wand decides its own destiny

The Elder Wand had a long and bloody history until it finally came into the hands of Albus Dumbledore. Though Lord Voldemort stole the wand itself from Dumbledore's grave, its true allegiance lay with Dumbledore's disarmer: Draco Malfoy. Thus when Harry won the allegiance of Draco's wand, he also won the allegiance of the Elder Wand. However, he was only in possession of the actual wand for a very short time, and performed only one spell with it — Reparo on his broken Holly wand. Harry's wand contained a phoenix feather core, along with the previously mentioned holly wood. Harry was able to perform extraordinary feats with his wand and displayed a relentless determination, proving true the statement that nothing and nobody should stand in the way of this unusual paring of core and wand wood with its rightful match. Harry Potter owned several different wands up until the end of the Second Wizarding War, though only his holly and phoenix feather wand was considered truly his. Other wands included: Standing 15 feet tall and set within concrete bases, the nine wands – bringing to life those belonging to some of the favourite characters in the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films – will illuminate each evening, performing a light show to the thrilling music from the Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter films. Dumbledore’s words on the subject are open to interpretation: ‘No witch has ever claimed to own the Elder Wand. Make of that what you will.’ There have been several misconceptions surrounding its ownership
