About this deal

After facing severe casualties and crippling injuries, Denji’s team realize how outmatched they are by the gang of mysterious assassins aiming to steal the demon within Denji's heart.

Docking half a star as I was a little confused at times but definitely continuing on with this messed up series! Devil Extermination Special Division 4 is in serious trouble as a devil has sent a whole team of assassins to take Denji's heart. There were a couple of things set in the previous volume that were reveil here and there was one that was expected but i liked the execution of it so it was fine for me. There’s political warfare between gangs from several countries plotting against each other from behind the scenes. The end of the volume introduces us to new characters, new fiends and they are even bigger abominations than Denji and Power. As an aside at the end of volume 3 a lot of characters died…at least I think they did because I can’t see them coming back sadly :’() and having sworn to get revenge on those devils who killed his parents and his friends (Himeno being one) he takes up a new contract with a new devil - the future devil…with an offer he can’t refuse. She's really rocking the terrifying genius lady with supernatural powers in a fancy business suit vibes.

In volume 4 we are introduced some new characters - very much liking Kishibe who has been tasked by Makima to train Denji and Power into becoming fearsome devil hunters with pretty hilarious and bloody consequences. People getting squashed out of nowhere, the hottie Makima shows off why she runs the show and it is scary as hell. After being killed on a job, he is revived by his pet devil Pochita and becomes something new and dangerous—Chainsaw Man! Tatsuki Fujimoto 藤本タツキ (Fujimoto Tatsuki) is a Japanese manga author, mostly known for Chainsaw Man. There are: main characters who die and don't come back, villains who are serous and up the stakes, a new mystery around boss Makima's devil powers, and the overall worries about the power of the gun devil.Sometimes the characters may feel little bit clunky, but that is a minor nitpick in overall a great series. There are supposedly 11 volumes published in Japan, so we are over a third of the way through the story, and I am thoroughly enjoying the mix of violence, humor, conspiracy, and over the top commentary on human nature.

I took a break from this series (because I was finding it pretty mediocre) but I’m back and suddenly in love with everything that I previously wasn’t. Denji's a poor young man who'll do anything for money, even hunting down devils with his pet devil-dog Pochita. Repercussions from the previous battle are quite high and that means we need to have a little training arc. I forgot that some of the scenes shown here would be more shocking in Japan since it involves civilians having handguns in public, something that is strictly forbidden there and rarely seen. I understand I can change my preference through my account settings or unsubscribe directly from any marketing communications at any time.Makima is also shaping up to be a badass character that manages to be extremely cunning and intimidating in every scene she appears in.

Devil Extermination Special Division 4 is in serious trouble as a devil has sent a whole team of assassins to take Denji’s heart. I thoroughly enjoyed this volume which had a lot more story, a bit more characterisation and a heck of a lot of action! This feels like the volume where the story went from insane crazy ultra violent mayhem, to something larger, more serious, and sinister. I'm just letting myself go with the flow for now, enjoying the stupidly funny bits -- "Let's murder him with our intellect. Denji and Power take lessons on tactical teamwork while Aki seeks strength from more sinister sources.
