About this deal

Bluetooth bug I mentioned above seems to have been fixed with a software update, but with two software updates I’ve had to try twice each time to get them to install (on the bright side Mammotion is consistently putting out regular updates!) The residential lawn care market has remained relatively unchanged for years and is in desperate need of innovation," said Jidong Wei, founder ofMammotion. "This is an industry ripe for disruption and with the acceleration in robotic technology capabilities, Mammotion is ready to lead the charge in powering the next generation of smart robot mowers. We are very pleased to introduce a product like LUBA - one that is technologically advanced and precise, yet simple and easy to use - to take the 'work' out of yardwork." As with most robot lawn mowers, many of the features are universal. However, the exact combination and specifications help LUBA stand out from the rest. Here are some of the most notable features that make the LUBA robot mower appealing to homeowners worldwide. No Perimeter Wire Doesn’t have cellular connectivity so if it’s out of range of your WiFi, you won’t get the latest notifications, status, etc. (Luba does have a SIM slot, but the capability isn’t live for now) I also had an issue a couple of times where Luba would say it is disconnected from my WiFi, but will show as connected – I’ve then had to manually disconnect from my network, power-cycle Luba, and reconnect manually

It’s also a great choice for people who have very specific and complex lawn needs because of the many adjustments and configurations available within the app. Conclusion

My Services

Overall I was impressed with the obstacle-avoidance system when used on level 2. When off or using level 1, it had trouble, particularly with our playset. Constructive criticism The LUBA mower uses the highly sensitive real-time kinematic (RTK) technique to keep the mower within the precise boundaries you establish on setup. The special RTK antenna and reference station mean that your mower will know exactly where to go, even with a weak satellite signal. App Connectivity When the Luba AWD 5000 initially starts mowing, it will focus on the middle portion of the lawn. Once it has completed this, it’ll then go around the perimeter three times to ensure that the grass here is even and neat. A lot of robot mowers don’t cut to the edge, so this is a really nice touch that’ll save you having to get the trimmers out. Plus, it does a really good job of getting right up to the grass line. Rain Sensor Moreover, there’s even the option to choose the type of cut you would like including a fine cut, high grass or efficient cut. There’s also an option to customise how the mower cuts to suit the individual needs on your lawn.

The problem with this is that there is the chance of missing spots, but this isn’t the case with the Luba AWD 5000 which offers much more intelligent cutting patterns. That’s all thanks to the advanced RTK navigation system, so the machine knows where it’s already cut and won’t keep going over the same area twice. As I have discussed, the Luba AWD 5000 gives you as much as 3 hours per charge which is really good considering it’ll mow up to 500 square metres in as little as an hour. But it’s also pretty fast when it comes to charging. Multi-zone management efficiently mapsdifferent zones and allows users to automate specified tasks and requirementsin Mammotion appfor each zone including mowing date/time, cutting plate height and cutting route. The RTK navigation system on the Luba AWD 5000 had no problems getting around or between the two mowing zones I set up. The performance and final result of the cut were seriously impressive. Your RTK station can be mounted either with your charging station or somewhere else thanks to the inclusion of an extension kit. It boasts an impressive 120 metre range, so you won’t need to worry about connection problems with the mower itself.

I would recommend the Luba AWD 5000 for anyone who wants to jump on the RTK bandwagon as early as possible. This technology is still very new and really only being rolled out in 2023, so if you’re someone who likes to stay on top of new features then you’ll love this robotic mower. What’s more, you’ll get notifications from the app if there is any unusual activity such as the mower being lifted or moved. Since this is such a pricey bit of kit, these features are a must to protect your investment. The main part of the system is the RTK station which communicates with the satellites. However, there are also sensors on the mower itself, giving it a 220º view of the lawn which improves the ability of the Luba AWD 5000 to avoid obstacles. I tested these sensors out by placing something on the lawn and the Luba stopped just short of it and avoided the obstacle completely. If you’ve ever used a robot lawn mower before then you may be familiar with the fact that they mostly use a random cutting pattern. This gets the job done, don’t get me wrong, but it’s not the most accurate and efficient method.
